The fruiting body is cup-shaped, irregular, with a bright red-orange internal surface, the external surface being pink to orange then whitish, flaky, with a very short stem.

The fertile surface is smooth.

It grows on the ground, on sandy grounds or clearings.

The fruiting period takes place from May to March.
Dimensions: width of fruiting body approximately 7 cm (between 0.5 and 12 cm)
