The cap is pale grey to brown-grey.
The cap surface is smooth, not viscid nor sticky.
The flesh is brown, unchanging; its taste is faint; the odour is mealy;
its texture is fibrous.
The gills are adnate to decurrent, crowded .
The spore print is white. This species is saprophytic.
It grows on the ground, in coniferous woods, with spruce, pine, Douglas pine.
The fruiting period takes place from August to December.
