The cap is blue, green, grey, with a central umbo. The cap surface is smooth, not viscid nor sticky. The stem is blue green, without ring. The flesh is unchanging; the odour is strong, of aniseed; its texture is fibrous. The gills are decurrent to adnate, crowded (nb of gills per 90° ~ 20 ). The spore print is white. This species is saprophytic or mycorrhizal. It grows on the ground, in broad-leaved (sometimes coniferous) woods, with beech, chestnut, birch, pine. The fruiting period takes place from July to December.
Chemical tests : none. Distinctive features : silky blue-green cap (viscous if damp), soon depressed; strong odour of aniseed Clitocybe odora is occasional and widely present in the forest of Rambouillet, and is frequent, more generally speaking . | ||
