The cap is ochre-buff with a darker tawny centre, becoming grey with age from the margin inwards. its texture is fibrous. The gills are . The spore print is black. This species is saprophytic. The fruiting period takes place from July to September.
Chemical tests : none. Coprinellus congregatus is still unreported so far in the forest of Rambouillet, and is quite rare, more generally speaking .
