The cap is brown red, with a central umbo. The cap surface is smooth, not viscid nor sticky.

The flesh is unchanging; its taste is mealy or not distinctive; the odour is mealy; its texture is fibrous.

The gills are adnate to emarginate, crowded . The spore print is pink. This species is saprophytic.

The fruiting period takes place from April to November.
