The cap is white to buff, convex then expanded irregularly. The cap surface is smooth, not viscid nor sticky.

The flesh is pink buff, unchanging; its taste is bitter; the odour is pleasant; its texture is fibrous.

The gills are white to cream, adnate, crowded . The spore print is white. This species is saprophytic. It grows on the ground, in tufts.

The fruiting period takes place from October to November.
Dimensions: width of cap approximately 3.5 cm (between 1 and 6.5 cm)
  height of stem approximately 5 cm (between 3 and 8 cm)
  thickness of stem (at largest section) approximately 7 mm (between 3 and 10 mm)

Distinctive features : whitish to buff stem and cap; bitter taste; pleasant odour; in tufts

Gymnopus oreadoides is still unreported so far in the forest of Rambouillet, and is very rare, more generally speaking .
