The cap is cup-shaped then saddle-shaped, with a grey-black to brown-black, matt, felty internal surface, the external being shiny, with a well differentiated stem, smooth, grey-brown to black, slender and not furrowed.

The fertile surface is smooth.

It grows on the ground, in coniferous or deciduous woods, on pathsides and sandy grounds.

The fruiting period takes place from July to October.
Dimensions:
  total height approximately 4 cm (between 2 and 6 cm)

Distinctive features : sorry, no English description yet

Helvella pezizoides is still unreported so far in the forest of Rambouillet, and is quite rare, more generally speaking .
