The fruiting body is funnel-shaped or convex, irregular, single or fused with other samples, whitish yellow to dark cinnamon brown, without concentrical bands, with a reddish-brown, dark stem.

the odour is mealy.

The fertile surface is made of whitish then dark brown spines. The spore print is brown.

It grows on the ground, in broad-leaved woods.

The fruiting period takes place from September to December.
