Identification of mushrooms without gills, nor tubes, nor spines


 

smooth skin, thick (3 to 6 mm); short, thick and gnarled stem; in Mediterranean pine woods

cracked skin, thinner (1 mm or less), with brown scales surrounded by paler areas (like leopard skin); turning to a network when the scales fall off

thin skin (1mm or less) with smooth then finely grainy surface; thick stem looking like a root (2 to 4 cm long)
 
All these species belong to the genus Scleroderma
