The fruiting body is rabbit ear-shaped, erect and non symmetrical, in tufts, with a vertically inrolled margin, with a light yellow to orange internal surface, the external surface being ochre-yellow, with a very short stem, covered with white hairs, pied très court, not clearly marked from the fertile head. The fertile surface is smooth. It grows on the ground, in broad-leaved woods, sandy soils poor in humus, with beech, oaks. The fruiting period takes place from April to December.
