The fruiting body is cup-shaped, with an ochre to brown internal surface, the external surface being beige.

The fertile surface is smooth.

It grows on wood, or rotten wood of broad-leaved trees, out of forests.

The fruiting period takes place from April to December.
Dimensions: width of fruiting body approximately 8 cm (between 4 and 12 cm)


Peziza varia is still unreported so far in the forest of Rambouillet, and is frequent, more generally speaking .
