The fruiting body is cup-shaped, with a deeply inrolled margin, often in tufts, with a buff yellowish to brown internal surface, the external surface being whitish to light buff.

The fertile surface is smooth.

It grows on the ground, on rich soils or manure.

The fruiting period takes place all year long.
