The fruiting body is shaped like a branched shrub, with cylindrical branches, dark yellow then yellowish. The flesh is white; The fertile surface is smooth. It grows on the ground, in broad-leaved woods, mostly in high altitudes, on a rather calcareous soil, with beech. The fruiting period takes place from August to October.
