The fruiting body is shaped like a branched shrub, with cylindrical branches, dark yellow then yellowish.

The flesh is white;

The fertile surface is smooth.

It grows on the ground, in broad-leaved woods, mostly in high altitudes, on a rather calcareous soil, with beech.

The fruiting period takes place from August to October.
Dimensions: width of fruiting body approximately 6 cm (between 0 and 12 cm)
  total height approximately 15 cm (between 10 and 20 cm)
  width of stem approximately 20 mm (between 0 and 35 mm)

Distinctive features : branched, pure yellow colour; V-shaped branches, always round; with beech trees

Ramaria lutea is still unreported so far in the forest of Rambouillet, and is quite rare, more generally speaking .
