The fruiting body is cup-shaped, shallow and convex, with a bright red-orange internal surface, the external surface being pale brown, very hairy.

The fertile surface is smooth.

It grows on wood or on the ground, in marshlands, wet places, on rotten wood or damp ground, often amongst moss.

The fruiting period takes place from June to December.
Dimensions: width of fruiting body approximately 0.9 cm (between 0.2 and 1.5 cm)
