The cap is brown, with paler centre. The cap surface is smooth, not viscid nor sticky.

The stem is white towards top, ochre brown towards base, without ring.

The flesh is white, unchanging; its taste is mild or bitter; the odour is not distinctive; its texture is fibrous.

The gills are white, free to adnate, crowded . The spore print is white. This species is saprophytic. It grows, with pine, red fir.

The fruiting period takes place from March to December.
