The cap is white to cream. The cap surface is smooth, not viscid nor sticky. The stem is blackish brown to black, without ring. The flesh is white, unchanging; the odour is or rotten cabbage or foul water; its texture is fibrous. The gills are white, adnate, distant . The spore print is white. This species is saprophytic. It grows on the ground, with spruce, fir. The fruiting period takes place from June to November.
