The cap is yellow-brown to reddish-brown. The cap surface is sticky when damp. The cap margin is smooth. The stem is white to yellow, speckled with droplets turning eventually to brown to blackish dots. The flesh is yellow to yellowish; its taste is mild; The tubes are chrome yellow to mustard yellow. The pores are yellow. It grows in coniferous woods, in the Mediterranean, on a rather calcareous soil, with Mediterranean pines. The fruiting period takes place from October to April.
Distinctive features : yellow flesh; stem with dark red-brown dots; under conifers in the Mediterranean Suillus mediterraneensis is still unreported so far in the forest of Rambouillet, and is occasional, more generally speaking .
