- Let's clear delicately the base of the mushroom from the soil, so as to extract it from the ground completely (without breaking or cutting it!). We can't see any stem, but the mushrooms are attached to the ground with thin threads.
It's a good time to smell the mushroom while it's still fresh.
We smell here an unpleasant odour from this mushroom, like metal or gas.
